Week Four: Jesus Is Alive….

The Truth about the Resurrection.. On the third day, after Jesus was buried, some women went to the tomb to place spices around the body. The body of Jesus was gone! They were shocked to find the huge stone rolled back from the tomb door and an angel inside. The angel told them that Jesus had risen from the dead. After the other disciples saw what had happened, Jesus himself appeared to Mary Magdalene in front of the tomb. Jesus rose from the dead.

God says that Jesus dying on the cross means that people can change from being bad to being good. People who follow Jesus do not have to be afraid of dying. If you follow Jesus then you will also come alive again to live with God someday!”

Lord Jesus, we give thanks for your life, death, and resurrection. Thank you for your son, Jesus for dying for us. Lord God, you loved this world so much that you gave your one and only Son, that we might be called your children too. Help us to remember all the things he did and celebrate him on this special day. He healed people who were sick. He walked on water, died, and came back to life.

I confess my sin, and I believe that you are God, my Savior. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Today I’m turning over every part of my life to your management.

We thank you for your love and for giving us the chance to have eternal life. We pray that you will help us to remember your sacrifice and to follow you with our hearts always. Please, shine your light in us, through us, over us. May we make a difference in this world. Thank you God for hearing my prayers, I love you, In Jesus Name, Amen.

WHAT IS THE BIBLE: The Story Begins

1st Through 3rd Grade

WHAT HAPPENED?

God created the whole world and he wanted everyone to be happy and love him. Sadly, people made bad choices, which has made many bad things happen in this world. God was very sad that people had caused the earth to be so bad. Even though many people did not follow him he still loved them. So God sent his son, Jesus, from heaven to earth to show everyone how to obey God and make good choices. Then, the Lord Jesus died about three o'clock in the afternoon. His body was taken down from the cross, and He was buried in the tomb of a rich man. This tomb was a cave in the side of a mountain. They rolled a big stone in front of His tomb. Guess what, He was not in there.

He Is Alive!!

4th Through 5th Grade

WHAT HAPPENED?

Jesus was arrested, tried, and found guilty of claiming to be a king. His body was hung on a cross between two thieves. After his death, Jesus’ body was wrapped in linen cloth and placed in a tomb with a large stone rolled across the opening. On the third day, an early Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and another Mary came to the tomb and found it empty. Sitting on the rolled-away stone was an angel of the Lord who told them not to be afraid because Jesus had risen. As the women left to tell the disciples, Jesus Christ met them and showed them his nail-pierced hands. The Old and the New Testaments speak of the truth of Jesus being raised from death - Jesus testified of his resurrection before He died on the cross and his disciples witnessed his body after the resurrection.
