Black History Month is a time for remembering and appreciating the accomplishments of African American people.

Happy Black History Month

This week Our Scripture:

John 13:34–35

Jesus says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

This means: God’s love is centered in Christ and in relationships. We have been blessed and tasked as Christians to love our brothers and sisters and to love those whom God loves.

What Is Black History?

Black History Month is an important time to reflect on the struggles, sacrifices, and accomplishments of African Americans throughout our nation’s history. It is also an important opportunity to recognize the image of God in each and every person, regardless of their background. As Christians, we are called to love our neighbors and treat them with respect, as they were all created in the image of God, and therefore, are all equal in his eyes.
