Week Five: Dare to be different….

We often think of the word “dare” as something bad, usually associated with someone challenging us to do something dangerous that is unnecessary and might even be fatal. However, when I looked up the verb “dare,” it means to “have the courage to do something.” To have the courage to do something can be good or bad for us. Are you familiar with the toys called “Transformers?” Each one starts out looking like one thing, then various parts move so the whole thing becomes something totally different. Some parts stay the same; others change to take on the appearance of something with a different purpose—a powerful robot. This toy makes a good visual of how, in real life, we are transformable in the hands of the living Christ and His transforming power. So, how do we cooperate with our transformer? We are to be different from the world around us knowing it’s for our own good. And, we are to do this by faith, like everything else in our Christian life.

Welcome To Virtual Sunday School!

FOR THIS WEEK:

TODAY’S MEMORY VERSE:

Christian brothers, I ask you from my heart to give your bodies to God because of His loving-kindness to us. Let your bodies be a living and holy gift given to God. He is pleased with this kind of gift. This is the true worship that you should give Him. 2 Do not act like the sinful people of the world. Let God change your life. First of all, let Him give you a new mind. Then you will know what God wants you to do. And the things you do will be good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1-2 (NLV)

WHAT IS THE BIBLE: The Story Begins

WHAT YOU SAY:

Noah trusted God enough to build an ark, even though he had never seen rain or a flood. Noah didn’t let any ridicule or mocking stop him. He listened to God, not other people, and God saved his family. Thank you for the story of Noah.

Noah's faith should inspire you to be different. Help us God to obey you, just like Noah and his family did. God may never ask you to prepare for something that has never happened before. He may not have you do something as big as build an ark. However, whatever God tells you to do, do it. Ignore the criticism of others, and serve God with all your heart. God can do great things through us, just as he did Noah. We just need a little faith.
