This Week: I Have Plans For You..
God knows what the big picture is for our lives. He holds the end result and can see the box with the image on it. Yet He only gives us the puzzle one piece at a time. He knows what we can handle and does not want to overwhelm us, so He guides us through as we figure out how everything fits and falls into place. When we truly trust the puzzle designer and place our lives in His hands, we can hold hope that in the end things will work, even if not as we expect. The best we can do is live one day at a time and let God be in control.
A very long time ago, God decided to have a very special talk with Abram, one of His chosen people. All heaven stood still and listened as God spoke these words to Abram: “I want you to leave your country, your family, and your father's house, and I want you to go into a land that I will show you.” Now they didn't have big moving trucks back in those days. Besides, God didn't even mention the NAME of the place! This would be a big step of FAITH for Abram and his wife Sarai. God wanted them to leave EVERYTHING, and EVERYBODY that they knew, and start over in a NEW land. This was no small thing, for, you see, Abram was now 75 years old. He didn't even KNOW where he was going, because the Lord didn't TELL him. God said He would show him where He wanted him to go, but only AFTER he obeyed.
“REMEMBER”
Matthew 6:25-27 NIV
Worry about just one day at a time, because God will take care of you.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?

IT’S PRAYER TIME!!!!
Lord Jesus, we give thanks for your life, death, and resurrection. Thank You for the reminder of choosing us, creating us, and giving us purpose. When we are tempted to worry and request Your blessing over our plans instead of aiming to hear Your will for our lives, grab our attention. Convict our hearts and remind us who You are, and who we are in Christ.
I confess my sin, and I believe that you are God, my Savior. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Today I’m turning over every part of my life to your management.
We thank you for your love and for giving us the chance to have eternal life. We pray that you will help us to remember your sacrifice and to follow you with our hearts always. Please, shine your light in us, through us, over us. May we make a difference in this world. Thank you God for hearing my prayers, I love you, In Jesus Name, Amen.

WHAT IS THE BIBLE: The Story Begins
1st Through 3rd Grade
WHAT HAPPENED?
Abraham begins the long journey - Abram and Sarai began to make preparations for their journey. Lot, Abram's nephew, would be traveling with them. Their servants would be going along as well. They had to decide what to take and what to leave behind. As Sarai was busily packing the household items, Abram and Lot were gathering the herd of cattle and flock of sheep from the fields. Since there were no vehicles at the time, Abram chose his strongest camel to carry their belongings. He packed very carefully, making sure the tent was right on top because they would need that to sleep in at night. They took one more look around to make sure they hadn't left anything important. Then it was time for them to begin their great adventure.
God loved Abram and all of his people. He promised that a great nation will come from Abram. He promised that Abram’s name will be great among the Earth and that all people will be blessed through Abram. God made a promise and He kept it. God is always faithful and wants us to be faithful as well. God wants us to keep our promises, just like He does. God loves us and wants us to follow Him, just like Abram did. What kind of promises can you make that you can keep?
4th Through 5th Grade
WHAT HAPPENED?
God commanded Abram to leave his home and his family. Can you imagine how scary that would have been for Abram? It would have been hard for him to leave his home, but he wanted to please God. God promised to bless Abram if he did what God told him to do. That means that good things will happen to Abram. God promised Abram that he will have many children and grandchildren and that his family will become a great nation. They will become the people of God, a nation called Israel. When Abram heard that God wanted him to leave his home, he left. He didn’t wait. He left immediately and followed God. God wants us to follow Him just like Abram did. God wants us to follow him no matter what we do or where we go.
